Claim codes: privacy, consent, and terms

Claim codes let you control who accesses your hosted work, enforce consent requirements, and align with terms of service—all while keeping your content private or public as you choose.

Claim codes let you control who accesses your hosted work, enforce consent requirements, and align with terms of service—all while keeping your content private or public as you choose.

Who it's for

  • Content creators who want to share hosted pages with selective access
  • Teams managing multiple public works with consent or terms prerequisites
  • Users who need to enforce privacy before viewers can claim a work

Steps

  1. Generate or redeem a claim code to attach access controls to your work
  2. Set privacy and consent terms for who can view your public page
  3. Require a claim code before visitors can claim your public work if enabled
  4. Cancel a paid plan and understand file retention if your access changes
  5. Review how billing and renewals work for claim-code-linked plans
  6. Check what you get on each paid plan to match your needs
  7. Appeal a disabled public page if a claim code dispute occurs

Gotchas

  • Claim codes cannot be recovered once used or revoked
  • Removing a claim code may restrict access for existing viewers
  • Billing changes (cancel, upgrade) affect claim-code-linked plans differently
