Cancel a Paid Plan and What Happens to Your Files

Downgrade or cancel your HTMLPUT paid plan through the [Pricing page](/pricing) or [sign in](/login). When you switch off a paid tier, your files stay intact but shared links and storage limits follow the new plan's rule

Downgrade or cancel your HTMLPUT paid plan through the Pricing page or sign in. When you switch off a paid tier, your files stay intact but shared links and storage limits follow the new plan's rules — here's exactly what changes and how to avoid surprises.

Who it's for

  • Users who want to move from Plus, Pro, or Ultra back to Free
  • Anyone whose subscription renewal came up and they'd rather downgrade
  • Creators testing whether they still need extra storage or features before committing

Steps

  1. Review what you currently have. Check What You Get on Each Paid Plan so you know which features disappear at each tier.
  2. Decide your next plan. Visit /pricing and compare Free vs. Plus vs. Pro vs. Ultra. Read the Pricing page guide for a breakdown of limits.
  3. Manage your subscription. Sign in at /login, go to Pricing, and use the manage button for your active plan. Cancellations are processed through the Waffo billing portal — HTMLPUT does not store payment details directly.
  4. Watch what changes the moment cancellation takes effect:- Your storage quota reverts to the Free limit. If you're over it, see how to free up space or consider upgrading instead. - Pages you already hosted remain on your account but may become inaccessible if they exceed the new plan's upload quota. - Any unused paid-period credit is typically non-refundable; review the billing and renewals guide for details.
  5. Re-deem a code if you need a change. If you have a storage code and want to switch plans without a recurring charge, try redeeming a storage code. If a code fails, check the troubleshooting article.
  6. Keep your pages safe. Before cancelling, make sure important hosted files are downloaded or migrated. If you later want to reopen a page that became unavailable, see why visitors can't open your public page.

Gotchas

  • Files are preserved but not guaranteed accessible. Your hosted pages and uploads stay in your account, but if the Free plan's quota is exceeded, some pages may refuse new edits or uploads until you free space.
  • Public-page bans survive plan changes. A disabled public page from a moderation action stays disabled even after cancellation; you can still submit an appeal.
  • Cancel vs. delete your account. Cancelling a paid plan keeps your account and pages. If you want to remove everything entirely, read Delete Your Account and Hosted Pages.
