Who it's for
- Users who deleted a page and need to know if their old share link still works
- Developers sharing client previews who want to understand link lifetime
- Anyone hitting 404 or blank pages when opening a previously shared link
Steps
- Understand the core rule: When you delete a hosted page, its share link is deactivated immediately. Visitors who click the old link will see a blank page or 404 error.
- Check if your page was banned instead: If your page violated our policies, it may be blocked by moderation rather than deleted. In that case, the link won't work and you'll need to submit an appeal.
- Look in your History: Sign in and check your History to manage your pages. If the page still appears there, it hasn't been deleted—its access settings may have changed.
- Consider password access changes: A link stops working if someone changed the page to password-only after you shared it. Visitors who don't have the password will hit the password gate.
- Recreate if needed: Deleted pages cannot be recovered. For zip/folder sites still in Uploads, use More → Re-upload to replace files—the share link stays the same. To get a new link, delete the page and upload again from the home page.
- Check your storage quota: If deletion failed due to a quota limit, the original link may still be active. Clear space and try deleting again.
Gotchas
- Deleting a page from History permanently removes it—you cannot undo this.
- Third-party platforms or search engines may cache the old link content temporarily, but the live page will be gone.
- Password-protected pages require the exact current password; old credentials won't work if the host changed them.
